I have seven years experience as a social researcher working in the fields of gender, education and international development. My PhD research explored the impact of a non-formal education programme aiming to empower girls to claim rights to be free from violence. Prior to my PhD I worked as a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge where I led a project ‘gender dynamics and hidden gender equalities in Caribbean schools’ and worked on another action research project on sexuality education in six African countries. I am currently a Research fellow at the University of York. I have expertise in qualitative methods including interviewing, ethnography and participatory methods.
