Naana Otoo-Oyortey MBE is the Executive Director at FORWARD, the leading African diaspora women’s rights organisation in the UK working on female genital mutilation (FGM).
Naana is passionate about ending FGM, child marriage and child motherhood. She has previously worked with the International Planned Parenthood Federation on gender equity within sexual and reproductive health.
She focuses on sexual and reproductive health, leadership development, participatory research and mentoring African girls and young women left behind through multiple forms of gender violence and traumas in the UK and Africa.
Naana has an MPhil in Development Studies from Sussex University and was honoured for women’s human rights by the Queen in 2009.
