Patricia Bartley

Brief Biography:

My specialisms include the work and protection of human rights defenders, the role of temporary relocation schemes for those at risk and human rights and citizenship education focussing on activism.  An independent researcher and consultant with wide experience in human rights and education. I am an experienced teacher, trainer and project manager and have worked both in the Europe and Africa.

For the past three years I have worked for the Centre for Applied Human Rights (CAHR), at the University of York as a researcher on two projects connected to the field of human rights defenders (HRDs) and on a Protective Fellowship scheme for HRDs at risk. This has included managing training, advocacy, research supervision and report writing.

I have an MA in Applied Human Rights from the University of York and a PGCE in teaching languages from the University of Leeds.
