Daphne Jayasinghe is Acting Head of Policy and Chief Policy Adviser for Economic Programmes at the International Rescue Committee (IRC). She leads IRC’s work influencing economic policy impacting refugees and migrants. Areas include labour market integration, humanitarian cash transfer programmes and women’s economic empowerment.

Daphne specialises in gender and women’s rights. She was previously Women’s Rights Policy Adviser at ActionAid UK. She also served as Amnesty International USA's Advocacy Director for Women's Human Rights in Washington DC where she worked on legislation on violence against women and maternal health. She was also a civil servant, working on UK government and European Union policy development.
