Elanor has 27 years experience of working in international development and 20 years of working on children’s rights and women's rights and gender equality programmes, with specific thematic expertise on child protection and child safeguarding, violence against women and girls, women's political participation, discriminatory social norms, media and development, as well as monitoring, evaluation and research. Working as a Consultant over 9 years, she has supported organisations to improve learning and the quality of their work. She has experience of living and working in India, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Ethiopia and has worked in several countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America and was Head of Programmes at ChildHope for 6 years. In 2015, she led a 4 country research project for Womankind Worldwide on women's political participation. Recently she has been working as a gender advisor with BBC Media Action. For Girl Effect she undertook an organisational learning review; reviewed Girl Effect's Child Safeguarding policy and procedures and developed a new Safeguarding Policy and Implementation Standards and facilitated a global Theory of Change.
