The impact of economic reforms and austerity measures on women’s human rights

GADN recently made a submission to the United Nations Independent Expert on foreign debt and human rights on the links and the impact of economic reforms and austerity measures on women’s human rights.  This is ahead of the Independent Expert's next thematic report to the UN General Assembly, 73rd session (2018).

The submission, which draws on material from previous GADN briefings on the topic, outlines the impact of austerity policies on women, and recommends a number of macroeconomic policies which governments can pursue in order to ensure that women's rights are promoted in line with Agenda 2030.
