Brief Biography:
Senior Gender and Social Inclusion Expert who has worked for more than 25 years principally in Africa including the MENA region on gender and social inclusion and cross-cutting issues including water, infrastructure development, climate change, food security/nutrition, sexual and reproductive health (SRH), maternal and child health, gender-based violence and adolescent and youth SRH. Have undertaken gender impact assessments, developed and delivered gender training in English and French and prepared tools and policies on gender and social inclusion for international donors as well as special initiative (Male Champions Forum for the World Bank). Have experience in M & E including development of gender indicators.
Areas of Expertise:
Experience with the design and conducting gender and social impact assessments from a gender perspective including preparing Gender Action Plans and Gender Analysis reports. Professional facilitator and trainer who has designed and delivered participatory training (online and face-to-face) in English, French and Portuguese on gender equality for the World Bank, UN (UNDP, UNICEF), international donors (Global Affairs Canada, UKAID). Field researcher specialised in designing and conducting qualitative research using participatory approaches. Experience with monitoring and evaluation of donor projects including conducting quality assurance of evaluation reports of WFP, FAO and UNICEF. Have developed tools, policies and communications material on gender and social inclusion, maternal and child health and sexual and reproductive health. Other areas of work experience and expertise include: communications, knowledge management, food security/agriculture, trade/infrastructure, Indigenous Peoples and corporate social responsibility.
