Feminist Macroeconomic Proposals: Rebuilding More Equitable, Just and Sustainable Economies post-COVID-19

As post-pandemic economic recovery plans unfold globally, feminists and women’s rights organisations are devising proposals and calling for transformative solutions for a post-COVID-19 recovery that shape economic policy making for decades to come.

Below is a list of feminist macroeconomic proposals put forward by feminist economists, feminist and women’s rights organisations, and feminist networks as well as related global coalitions and alliances. They provide an indication of the wealth of feminist alternatives that exist and can be a resource for other feminists advocating for change.

Alongside the list of resources is a data table containing the same information in addition to enabling filter options based on author, organisational affiliation (where applicable), date and theme/subtheme.

We have included as many perspectives from feminists and women’s rights organisations from the South as possible. Please continue to refer back here as we continue to add more proposals to this page.

At the onset of the pandemic, we also started collating resources from feminists from across the world who have been examining its gendered impacts across different thematic areas. These historic feminist responses to Covid-19 can be found here.
