Care International
CARE International is a leading humanitarian organisation fighting global poverty, operating in over 100 countries. Founded in 1945, they work around the globe to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice. CARE puts gender equality at the centre of their work, because they know that we cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal rights and opportunities. Women’s Economic Justice is a key strategic area that they work on across the confederation to achieve this. They have been focusing on advancing women’s economic justice and rights by advocating for structural change, including on caring economies, equitable financing and fostering a gender-just green transition. CARE co-leads the UN Generation Equality Action Coalition on Economic Justice and Rights, is a partner in the ILO Social Justice Coalition, and has deep programmatic experience on women’s economic justice, often at local levels through women-led groups and in partnership with local Civil Society partners.
