Brief Biography:
Freelance consultant with over 20 years’ experience of working in international development, with specific expertise in women and girls’ rights programming within a range of organisations, including Womankind Worldwide, Childhope UK, Plan UK, the Overseas Development Institute and Girl Effect. Currently working as a consultant, recent or existing clients include Saferworld, Internews Europe, BBC Media Action and UNICEF. She has country experience of Albania, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa and South Sudan.
Areas of Expertise:
Thematic areas of expertise include VAWG, women’s political participation, girls’ education, girls’ in governance processes, social norms including in relation to media work. Skills include facilitating programme design, implementation and learning; proposal development; participatory gender equality reviews; gender equality strategy development and implementation; capacity building on women’s and girls’ rights and gender equality and on gender mainstreaming; research and writing; development of guidance notes and toolkits for development practitioners and organisational development including strategic planning, fundraising planning, financial health checks for small NGOs.
