Ellie has over twenty years’ experience leading fundraising and communications functions in international development organisations including WaterAid, United Purpose, Oxfam, Farm Africa, and Womankind Worldwide as well as a fundraising consultant for Womanity, Lighthouse Reports and the Circle. She is currently Director of Programme Funding & Partnerships at GAD Network member WaterAid UK, as well as a DEFRA appointed Board member of the Cotswolds National Landscape, where she leads the Fundraising and Grants Committee.

After taking an MA in Environment and Development Policy at Sussex, Ellie worked at the Institute of Development Studies in the Health and Social Change Team, co-authoring a guide to Gender and Health Equity. She spent five years in Japan during which time she taught at a specialist music college and the Japanese Ivy League university, Waseda, alongside delivering corporate training in communications at leading Japanese firms. 

Having led the relationship with the UK Government in several organisations, including Oxfam, she is particularly interested in supporting the voice and influence of GADN members in ensuring the UK’s ODA centres women’s rights.
