Gemma Houldey
Brief Biography:
I am an advisor on wellbeing and organisational development, focusing on feminist and inclusive approaches to addressing stress, burnout and discrimination in the sector. In 2021 my book ‘The Vulnerable Humanitarian: Ending Burnout Culture in the Aid Sector’ was published by Routledge. My PhD examined stress among aid workers in Kenya, and I have 15 years experience of working on human rights and humanitarian programmes. I offer workshops, research and advisory services aimed at cultivating compassionate workspaces that respect diversity and difference, and which bring feminist principles into our daily working practices.
Areas of Expertise:
I am a feminist researcher and wellbeing advisor for the aid sector, and I’m interested in joining discussions and exploring collaborations around the topics of stress and wellbeing, and how we can create a more compassionate and inclusive organisational culture.
